GET INVOLVED! IT IS NOT A GAME!

When the topic “politics” is brought up for discussion, the first impression that so many of us have is that “politics is dirty”. And as believers, we do not want to be part of dirty games or schemes so we immediately shun anything that we’d involve us in such.

But are we doing the right thing? Is politics a dirty game?

Dear friends, my answer to that question would be a straight-up NO.

God honors his word more than his name and in his word, he admonishes us to be partakers of this process where leaders and governors would emerge. And you can agree with me that God would never honor that which is “dirty”.

Politics is not dirty nor is dirty game as often hears or believe. Let us clarify one thing before moving forward, politics is not a game.

According to the collins dictionary, ” politics are the actions or activities concerned with achieving and using power in a country or society”.

It is an activity that is associated with the governance of a country, state, area, or organization. Politics aims at improving a person’s status or increasing power or influence within an organization, area, state, or Nation.

Politics is the profession or practice of highly skilled, intelligent, and outspoken men. Men who have mastered the art of negotiation & compromise and are capable of maintaining their values, and defending their ideology and belief.

People who don’t understand the technicality and spirituality behind the act, see it as a game, a dirty game. This is because they are either too lazy or busy to understand and study the importance of it.

What you may or may not know is that politics determine the directions and lifestyles of societies, organizations, and the nation at large. Recall that those who practice politics practice it with their belief and will do everything to use it to protect their belief, ideology, values, and conviction.

Dear friends, we need to understand that politics is a profession. Just as those who practice medicine are called Doctors, so as those who practice politics are called politicians. No matter your influence you cannot just assume you are a doctor without following the due process of equipping relevant training.

Neither I nor you would allow ourselves to be treated by a quack.

Liken this to politics, not anyone should be allowed to assume power based on inheritance or wealth.

The scripture says in Hosea 4:6, let us seek knowledge for so many have perished due to lack of knowledge.

We cannot assume medicine is a dirty game because of some cruel practitioners, this applies to politics and politicians. What makes the difference is one person’s ideology, values, and beliefs. These differences are what plays out in whatever profession we find ourselves in.

Politics, the roles it offers, and the politicians who are appointed to such positions are crucial determining factors in the growth and survival of any country. Whatever political decision we make as a country will affect generations unborn and this is why we need to get more involved.

Dear friend, I’ll conclude by urging every one of us as believers who have in faith everything but governance to change such mentality. You need to understand that you are the light of the world, and the fruits you bear were given unto you so you can make a change.

Let’s make a change today and be the leaders we are meant to be. It is time for us to get involved with politics.

See you soon, God bless you.

Nothing improves without leadership.

We find ourselves in a world that solidly depends on leadership to create a path and provide direction for almost everything.

No nation arrives where they are without leadership. And no nation will get to where they are going without leadership.

AFTER RIGHTEOUSNESS, WHAT NEXT?

In our last conversation, we see righteousness as a non-negotiable quality of transformational or visionary leaders, similar to what we will be discussing today. Transformational or visionary leaders view their impact beyond their time in office or lifetime, and their decisions are focused on future generations.
Today, we will look at EMPAHTY as a non-negotiable quality of a leader. What is empathy?
