Marriage is the most desired institution to belong to yet the most dishonoured. It is the only institution where you are awarded certificate before being admitted therein. Marriage is not man’s idea, as such, should not be handled with the wisdom of man but that of God, being an institution where human character is refined to conform to the image of Christ. This exposes marriage to all forms of satanic attack. Marriage is originally designed between a man and a woman, it is a beautiful institution where differences are managed to develop a healthy society. Marriage is also a platform for where procreation is legally approved in order to raised God’s images that will provide God’s kind of leadership in all sectors.
Back to the question, will you marry me?
There are things we need to consider before asking such question because it is the most expected difficult question. Also there are things to consider before answering the question, that is why the scripture said no one should ask or answer in haste, else he said it was an error (Ecc 5:2). in asking or answering such question, we must ask ourselves same questions
• Why should anybody marry me?
• What marriage mean to me?
• What are the values that I want to share with my intended spouse?
• Where am I going in life that I am looking for someone to journey with me?
• What is in my hand to care for who will follow me?
• Why do I need someone help?
• Who is compatible for me?
• Do I have character? Am I dependable? Can I be trusted?
In answering these questions, it will take you time in the place of prayers and self-appraisal or discovery of who you really are, what you have tendency of doing when there will not be problem, your perception of things like values, respect, submission, obedient to authority, team work, finance, fame, career and so on,
Also, before trying to ask the question or answer it, the next thing that should come is will this person agree to go with me, the Bible says in Amos 3:3; Can two walk together except they are in agreement?. Let me say this here, before looking for who will agree with you, you must first agree with yourself; that you need help Gen 2:18, you must be ready to leave your parents to cleave (Matt 19:5) and lastly that you have limited capacity for it is written, one will chase a thousand and two will put ten thousand to flight. After agreeing with yourself, you can now look up to God in the place of prayer for the person that is compatible with you.
Where do I get the person that is compatible with me?
There is no other place to get such person than in the place of prayer. Scriptures says in Prov 19:14 and 18:22 that a prudent wife is from the Lord. Remember the heart of man is deceitful and wicked (Jer !7:9) and there is no one that can know it and the secret things belong to God and He is the one that search all heart and know the thoughts if it agree with His thought toward him. For everyone who fear the Lord, He will guide and help to chose what is good.
Friends, remember it is in the place of prayers destiny is revalidated, it is a place where mysteries are unveiled. After prevailing in the place of prayer, you can now be sure you will not ask the wrong person the right question, will you marry me ?nor give the right answer to the wrong person, yes I do.
In conclusion, as beautiful as marriage is, it could be eternal hell if you ask the wrong person the right question or give the right answer to the wrong person. It is my prayer that you will secure God’s grace to wait on Him to chose for you who will agree with you because your future, from the day you ask the question will you marry me or answer the question depend on it.
