Guidelines for leading in turbulent times.
1. Apply break and make changes. Until you stop beating the drums of traditional change you might not be able to reflect on something and make personal recovery.
2. As a true leader you must be visible. Your visibility help followers to gain control of your mind. What we are saying here is clear. As a CEO, when there is a problem, your employees expects so much from you, they want to be able to emulate you because you either lead by example or you are not leading. Note in times of trouble your visibility is equal to credulity. Your absence can have dangerous effect on the followers or employees. Your visibility is a proof you are in charge and that you understand the significance of the moment. People will always remember who you are there personally shaking hands and talking and sending mails and calling.
3. As a leader you are expected to help others to see how they can influence event by making what really matter clear to them. It’s really though for a real leader but what matter must be clear whether is making leader gain followers business gain more customers, improving relationship you just have to tell the truth to strengthen follower’s confidence in you.
4. As leaders we must know that our followers are not only looking up to us for direction and guidance but they still look up to us to rebuild their confidence. It is a leader’s duty to help his followers see what they are contributing directly or indirectly. This will make the followers channel their energy into meaningful projects.
5. In turbulent times, leaders are expected to decide what must be done to keep the business moving and keep doing that which is critical to the stability of the organization. You must become the ambassador of your brand.
In conclusion, it is your values that develop your integrity and it is only integrity that is your life savior in turbulent time because it will make you attract team members or members of staffs and make them follow you.
