No leader who is governed by physical knowledge can lead his people out of corruption, poverty and devaluation of human lives or fight corrupt practice in a Nation. Why?
Corruption itself is a spiritual stronghold when it comes against any Nation; it will reduce that Nation to the level of creating communal /ethnic crisis, insecurity, economic depression and political instability. This is why every war against corruption by unregenerate mind expose the Nation or the system to more corruption, like we have in Nigeria. The Nigerian government flag up campaign against corruption and established dual agencies like EFCC, ICPC, DSS and a lot of NGO’s to expose and combat corruption but it turn out these agencies and the officials become more corrupt than the people they are to fight. Why?
UNDERSTANDING THE BATTLE/WAR
No one can win any battle without first understanding the sources of the battle and check if he has all it takes to confront the enemies. This is why all the agencies and their officials appointed have not been able to make any significant progress because you don’t fight spiritual battle with physical senses / knowledge. These officials first need to understand corruption is a bondage and the battle against this bondage will only be won by the manifestation of the Sons of God (Rom. 8:19-21) – This lack of proper information about the battle makes the agencies and their officials not being able to differentiate corruption from criminality: as far as I am concerned, the agencies should engage in fighting criminals not mincing in words in fighting the battle they don’t know the source.
HOW DO WE ATTACK THE STRONGHOLD
In fighting this battle, we must understand that every creature was created subject to vanity, so it will take systematic approach to fight and win this war .
- We must design a structure that will take the creature’s mind away from vanity which we call materialism.
- We must reduce the way we celebrate immorality and allow moral to have its way.
- We must learn how to reward hard work.
- We must recreate our national values and allow the value to regulate and control our lives and all our affairs.
- We must seek divine help
- We must walk in his nature which is love daily
As serious minded leader that want to deliver his people from this bondage called corruption we must retrace himself back to his origin which is God, the father of all spirits, because it takes the spiritual to deal with spiritual matter like corruption, the leader must surrender to be repurchased, shout for help so that the rescuer can see or hear him to rescue because there are powers that rule the world and make people to be disobedient, living hopeless and godless life. Note: any leader that is not ready to be led by the spirit of God in fighting corruption will only expose his people and nation to more corrupt situations, this is the situation we are facing in Nigeria.
Wining battle or wars against corruption require love. Love remain the most tested weapon to win this battle. We have established that any leader that wants to deliver his people or nation from this bondage must first of all retrace his steps back to God, the father of all spirit after that he must walk in the nature of God which is love and lead his people to walk in love. Note, everybody is born to lead but not everybody has been set apart to lead his people or Nation out of this deadly war. In every generation, God always set apart somebody to undertake this work but most of the times; they mix it up with the multitude because of fear of the unknown. This person whom God has set apart is expected to walk in light and become light in the world that is in darkness. Isaiah said , great darkness is upon the earth and men like it because it hide their evil deeds as they are all afraid of light so they will not be exposed.
In conclusion; corruption is the breaking down of rules and regulations. It is a decision to work against established authority. It is a betrayal of trust. It is greedy for selfish gain irrespective of who is hurt. It is rebelling against authority that has empowered and entrusted responsibilities to you; it is selfishness and lusting after things you don’t need.
We therefore recommend that winning this battle require reformation, re-orientation and renewing of our minds without conforming to the affairs of this present age. It is accepting to stay under supreme authority and respecting the authority. It is training our minds to love and esteem others more then ourselves and treat them the way we want to be treated.
