We are going to look at how we can build our influence but we must first know the entrance into leadership. We have only two major ways into leadership: They are either by taking up a responsibility voluntary or by being elected, selected, appointed or ordained to take up responsibility. In either ways, what we will talk about will determine how you can cause positive change or negative change. The first step is Personal transformation
PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION – Rom 12:2
When we talk about personal transformation, we are simply saying renew your mind as the scripture admonish. It means we should not think in our traditional ways or worldly ways.
How traditional leaders think and what do they think about
- They see position and title as a means to an end
- They are positional minded not people oriented
- They focus on their positions and titles not their potential.
But encouraging us to renew our mind to think creatively and innovatively. Pro. 23:7 …as a man think so he is… Anytime a man changes his thinking pattern, his life also change let me assume here that everybody knows this, why our lives has not change to affect the leadership process of our great nation. The answer is simple and direct, NOT EVERY ONE SEEK TO UNDERSTAND THE JOY OF GOOD THINKING AND VALUE THE VALUES IN IT.
WHY MUST I THINK WELL?
Personal transformation is all about thinking right because right thinking creates foundation for good results. (Allen James, a great philosopher said, good thoughts and actions never produce bad results and bad thoughts and actions never produce good results) this I think is true because whatever a man sow he shall reap. I also came across this
- Poor thinking produces negative progress
- Average thinking produces no progress (James 1:8)
- Good thinking produces some progress
- Great thinking produces great progress
- Right thinking also increase your potential.
Friends, the problem of leadership in the world today will never get solution until men change their thinking and that is only where our desired change in the results we are commanding can improve.what them should i think about (Philip 4:8)
- Who am I?
- What are my values?
- What role do I need to play in the wellbeing of men and in God’s agenda?
- How will I influence and impact lives in my generation?
- What would I be remembered for?
- What leadership practice do I need to put in place?
Right thinking will make you to live right, progress and impact your world. Your thinking will determine
- How successful you are going to be in your career and relationship.
- Unsuccessful people focus their thinking on survival
- Average people focus their thinking on maintenance
- Successful people focus their thinking on progress and impact.
IMPACT OF RIGHT THINKING
- Right thinking can generate quality revenue for you,
- Solve problems, create opportunities and it can make you influential.
- It will change your life
- It will change your expectations
- It will change your attitude
- It will change your relationship
- It will change your performance
- It will change your belief.
The hardest work to do is to think and that is why only few people think…. Albert Estienne said thinking right is not automatic, it is a difficult task because it involved studying, study to show yourself approved, a man that work cannot be ashamed…(2 Tim 2:15, 1 Thes 4:11)
Why are few people thinking? I could have also ask Estienne, but see and hear what I found.
- You cannot think right until you discover the joy of creative thinking
- You cannot think right until you recognize the importance of realistic thinking
- You cannot think right until you release the power of strategic thinking
- You cannot think right until you feel the energy of positive thinking
- Until you embrace the lesion of reflective thinking.
- Until you question the traditional ways of thinking and doing things
- Until you encourage the participation of shared thinking
- Until you begin to enjoy the return of bottom line thinking.
