In Vince Lombardi’s words, “The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor.” The same can be said irrespective of gender!
As we know, the 8th of March is devoted to celebrating the accomplishments of women and seeking gender equality (International Women’s Day).
But more than that, this year we are Celebrating while advocating for the Embracing of Equity.
You see, shutting women out of opportunity because of their gender is not only unjust but it can bring harm to the growth and stability of any country’s economy.
This is because studies have shown that closing the gap in women’s labor force participation in countries with greater gender inequality could improve economic output by an average of 35 percent.
But not only the economy is affected by this menace, but it is also important to note that unequal communities are less cohesive, having records of higher rates of anti-social behavior and violence.
Thus, Embracing Equality not only improves nationwide productivity, and economic advancement and makes our communities safer and healthier, but it guarantees all round EXCELLENCE.
So, imagine a gender-equal world, a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination, a world that’s diverse, impartial, and inclusive, a world where difference is valued and celebrated.
This can all be attainable by
- Creating a workplace where women can prosper
- Celebrating the women simulating changes
- Improving visibility of women creatives
- Enhancing equality for women in tech
- Cheer equality for women in sports
- Providing a means for the inclusion of more women in policy making
Therefore, by celebrating women’s achievements, raising awareness about discrimination, and taking action to drive gender parity EXCELLENCE can be achieved.
