Are you familiar with the story of Job in the Bible? The Bible describes him as upright and blameless even though he was faced with grave trials and tribulations his integrity in God didn’t quiver. And in return, God restored all he had lost in multiple folds.
Now, what if Job’s integrity was feeble and he could not overcome temptations and attacks made by the devil, and in the end, he disappointed God?
What do you think would be his reward? My guess is, whatever the devil inflicted on him will be like child’s play when God’s wrath is invoked.
Dear friends, there are grave repercussions and consequences for ignoring integrity, and the story of is Saul one of them http://greggtjohnson.com/blog/saul-lacked-integrity
You might be familiar with the word and meaning of integrity. Chances are you’ve used the word to describe yourself or someone but do you know what integrity is not?
The world we find ourselves in now is highly competitive as everyone wants to make a name for themselves. So the phrase “the end justifies the means” gets thrown around and people use it to pardon certain behaviors. Dear friends, this is certainly not Integrity.
Integrity is not compromise! Don’t get me wrong, being able to compromise in certain relationships like marriages or friendships is quite crucial. But when you start to compromise on your ethics and values then your Integrity deserves to be questioned.
Compromising your personal and business values just to remain at the top of the game or because of what you stand to lose will have real consequences. The reputation you have struggled to build from the ground up will crumble and in the end, you’d figure it was not worth it.
Irrespective of the circumstances, convenience, or alliances Integrity is all about doing the right thing
The Bible says in Proverbs 28:6 that “Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways”.
The Bible has attested that you are “better” off a poor man with integrity than with all the riches of the world whilst lacking that crucial virtue.
A man lacking virtue doesn’t just lose the trust of men but also that of God and can you imagine living a life with God on your side? It must be awful.
Dear friends, it is also important to note that doing the right thing only counts when it is done both in public and private. So don’t showcase virtues in public and do otherwise in private.
Whatever decision you make will affect people in one way or another other so make sure you’re living an influence worth emulating.
Till we meet again next time, choose right and avoid slippery lanes that will lead to dire setbacks
