One may think the answer to that question is easy but it’s not! Leadership is servitude, it is not about the visibility you get or the
pay raise, it is SERVICE. As “we are what we do repeatedly, Excellence then is not an act, but a habit”. This is to say that for anyone to achieve excellence in leadership, then the person must be ready to make following rules and laws a habit. But not just anybody, God is calling YOU, His sons, and daughters to take the reins and lead His people out of the wilderness.
It is important to remember that we live in a world that is regulated by policies, laws, and regulations, i.e., governed by a constitution, run by policies. These policies are formulated, drafted, interpreted, and reviewed by men, as it is in Nigeria, where review and amendment of the constitution and electoral act are ongoing for the nation to forge ahead. These men who formulate, draft, interpret and are reviewing the constitution and electoral act are doing it based on their exposure, knowledge, perception, preference, imagination, ideology, belief, and faith-based. This is because every policy promotes an ideology and belief directly or indirectly.
This interprets why Moses said to the people of Judah that they should not allow the scepter to depart nor lawgivers from between her feet, Gen.49:10. He very well understands that the background, belief, exposure, association, and knowledge of the lawmakers who are elected to represent the people as legislators matter most in a nation.
Apostle Paul also in addressing the nation of Rome in Rom. 8:19, told them their national crisis, economic woes, educational instability, insecurity and dysfunctional arms of government will never end until the sons of God are revealed through their participation and involvement in policy formulation, drafting, interpretation and reviewing. This is what will bring the desired transformed nation they pray for daily in
their various worship centers.
These sons of God can only reveal their minds through the process of participation and involvement to ensure good governance and reduce the groaning of the citizens, as well as help put evil away from society for the will of God to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Recall in Prov. 29:2, scripture clearly states that when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice but when the wicked man rules, the people groan.
Let me lend a word to this, when the righteous fail to manifest and are indifferent about public affairs and governance in their society, wicked men will hijack governance and use it to control the righteous, inflict pain on the citizens to pursue gain for the kingdom they represent.
Note that it is when wicked men rule that judgment against evil is ignored, delayed, or not executed. This will turn the heart of young men toward doing evil. (Ecc.8:11.)
Today, ritual killing and social vices are on the increase in the nation, with all manner of agitations, poverty, kidnapping, and the like, as such, God is calling believers to take a stand and defend the common faith through participation and involvement in policy formulation, drafting, interpretation and reviewing so that nation will be reset and experience transformation.
